SPOT 1: Hotel Mahoroba

There are many hotels in the hot spring town, but having a slide that’s basically park-level in the hot springs is amazing! The kids enjoy it like a water park rather than just a hot spring experience lol

The library space is right next to the kids’ area, so you can read while watching the kids – perfect! It’s wonderful that adults can properly relax too!


SPOT 3: Noboribetsu Bear Park

Be careful – it’s cold at the top of the mountain! Everything from the cafe is bear-themed – it’s un-bear-lievably cute! lol

Right next to JR Noboribetsu Station! The castle-like building is distinctive! There are huge aquariums that make children’s eyes sparkle!


SPOT 5: Noboribetsu Date Jidaimura (Historic Village)

Water play is fun in summer, but you can spend the whole day there in winter too! My family actually prefers winter when it’s less crowded! Factory tours are available with reservations!


SPOT 7: Noboribetsu Jigokudani (Hell Valley)

📍 Basic Information
Address: Noboribetsu Onsen-cho, Noboribetsu, Hokkaido
Access: About 10-minute walk from Noboribetsu Onsen Bus Terminal
Viewing: 24 hours free
Illumination: After sunset until around 21:30

  • When you think of Noboribetsu, this is it!
  • Natural foot bath is amazing!
  • Tour guides available depending on season and time!
  • Looks beautiful at night too! (saw it in photos!)

I’d love to go all the way to the natural foot bath, but… don’t push it with kids! It’s not quite mountain climbing, but you do go down a mountain path a bit!


SPOT 8: Upopoy (National Ainu Museum and Park)

The hot spring town isn’t just about hotels – the restaurants are great too! Reservations recommended! You can tell it’s popular with the pizza oven! All the menu items are kid-friendly – perfect!
